Doyle Webb, Jr.

Doyle Webb, Jr., 86, of Waurika, Oklahoma, passed from this life Tuesday, July 28, 2015. He was born January 15, 1929, in Howe, Oklahoma, to Doyle and Ina "Mull" Webb. He traveled along side his father as they made their way to Addington in 1934 at the age of 5. His mother and the other children had gone on ahead. He could distinctly remember sleeping under the covered wagon and milking cows as they made their way to their new home. He graduated from Addington High School in 1949. He and Cynthia Keele were married December 1, 1956 in Waurika, Oklahoma.
Doyle was a member of the First Baptist Church in Waurika for almost sixty years. He was ordained as a deacon when he was seventeen years old. He taught Sunday school , sang in the choir, and went on mission trips with the youth. He served on the Executive Board of the Mullins Baptist Association and took care of the church's building at Falls Creek. He read his Bible from cover to cover seventeen times.
Doyle was the warehouse/material coordinator for Halliburton until his retirement in 1986 after 35 years of service. He served the Waurika community as a member of the Jefferson County Election Board for twenty-eight years and helped at the Rock Island Depot. He loved cooking for community projects. He enjoyed gardening, mowing and carpentry work. He worked alongside his brother J.T. doing carpentry work and mowing after his retirement. He never complained and was always faithful and steadfast in the Lord.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Alfred (Buddy) Webb, J.T. Webb, his sister Betty McManus and daughter-in-law Sheila Webb.
Survivors include: his wife Cynthia, of the home in Waurika; his son Alfred Webb of Fulshear, Texas; his daughter Serena Webb of Duncan, Oklahoma; his brothers Archie Webb and his wife Vesta, Phil Webb and his wife Erlene and his sister Hilda Epple; his grandson Matthew and his wife Michelle; his great-granddaughter Elyse and a second great grandchild to come in March.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Friday, July 31, 2015, at the First Baptist Church in Waurika with Jeff McLemore officiating. Burial will follow in the Addington Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home. Viewing will be Friday from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM at the Dudley Funeral Home Chapel in Waurika. The family asks that those wishing to visit with them come by the home. Pallbearers will be Ron Morgan, John Pewthers, Al Castle, Ronnie Bohot, Ervin Nunley, and Steve Tyler.
