Dovie Irene Skeen was born February 22, 1918, in Roswell, Oklahoma, to Ruben Lee and Ludie Buck Sessums. Dovie passed from this life Monday, July 7, 2003, at her home in Longview, Texas. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include: her son - James Skeen of Amarillo, TX; two daughters - Shirley Holly of Comanche, OK, and Sheila Pinnick of Longview, TX; one sister - Viola Sullivan of Ardmore, OK; fourteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, John Edward Skeen, in 1984.

Funeral services for Mrs. Skeen were at 1:30 PM, Thursday, July 10, 2003, at the Assembly of God Church in Ringling, Oklahoma with John Murrell officiating. Burial was in the Dixie Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Comanche. Pallbearers were her nephews.
