Dorothy Mae Abshire Perry

Dorothy Mae Abshire Perry was born May 25, 1930 in Atlee, Oklahoma to John Henry and Eva Cunningham Lester Abshire. She passed from this life Tuesday, October 30, 2012 in Meridian, at the age of 82.

She and Truman Othel Roy Perry were married July 19, 1947 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Dorothy had several different jobs during her life including the Waurika Nursing Home, Jefferson County Hospital Home Health and she was a homemaker. She was a member of the Ryan Assembly of God Church and the Women's ministry. She is survived by her children - Gladys and Jimmy Griffith of Loco, OK. Linda Watson of Waurika, OK. James Perry and wife Pat of Miami. Brenda and husband Eugene of Ryan, OK. Larry and wife Thelma of Terral, OK. Billy and wife Lenora of Meridian. Barbarba and husband Naman of Sugden, OK and David and wife Peggy of Terral, OK. Four sisters- Aleta Hagood of Ringling, OK. Louise Rainwater of Eufaula, OK. Ima Bradford of Ringling, OK and Eula Berry of Weatherford, OK. She had numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and many other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband - Truman Othel Roy Perry, her parents-John Henry Abshire and Eva Cunningham Lester, one sibling and one grandson.

Graveside service will be Friday, November 2, 2012 at 2:00 PM in Grady, OK, at the Grady cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home in Ryan. Visitation will be Thursday from 2-8PM at the funeral home. (614 Washington). Memorials may be made to the Heart Foundation and Kidney Foundation.
