Dorothy Etta (Clayton) Mitchell
Dorothy Etta Clayton Mitchell was born August 16, 1932 in Waurika, Oklahoma to Alfred "Pete" Clayton and Bert (Robbins) Clayton. Dorothy passed from this life Monday, July 10, 2017 at Hospice of Wichita Falls. Dorothy and Freddie J. Mitchell were married February 7, 1951 in Waurika, Oklahoma.
She partnered in the family owned auction business, worked for many years for Wichita Falls ISD. She also worked for Tastee Freeze. She was best known as a loving mother, grandmother, and aunt who provided many fond memories for her family.
She is survived by her daughters Ulanda Forbess and husband James of Sanger, Texas , Lavetta Kennedy and husband Mark of Duncanville, Texas, Sister - Marie Bonham of Dean, Texas, Grandchildren - Tracie, Janna, Heather, Mitchell, and Cheyenne and eleven great grandchildren. She is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Freddie Joe Mitchell in November of 1999, sister - Bertha and brother Alfred "Pete" Clayton.
Funeral service for Mrs. Mitchell will be Friday, July 14, 2017 at 3PM at Dudley Funeral Home Chapel in Waurika with Curtis Plant officiating. Burial will be in the Ryan Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls.
