Dorothy Bertie Jones passed from this life Monday, January 3, 2003, in Wichita Falls, at the age of seventy-eight. She was born September 24, 1924, to John Wesley Hood and Vesta Cagle Hood in Union Town, Arkansas. She and Richard Arthur Jones were united in marriage on December 10, 1041. Mrs. Jones was a homemaker and a member of the Waurika Church of the Nazarene.

Survivors include: her husband, Richard, of the home in Waurika, OK; one son - Richard Dale Jones and his wife Sherry, of Wichita Falls, TX; one daughter - Carolyn Bertie Stuttlemire and her husband Bob, of Venus, TX; four brothers - Jess Hood of Benton, AR, Sam Hood of Benton, AR, Celo Hood of Benton, AR, and Clyde Hood of Benton, AR; two sisters - Lena Grantham of Coosbay, OR, and Nona Carper of Benton, AR; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John Wesley and Vesta Cagle Hood, and one brother, J.B. Hood.

Funeral services for Mrs. Jones were at 11:00 AM, Friday, February 7, 2003, in the Waurika Church of the Nazarene with David Gordon officiating. Burial was in the Waurika Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika. Pallbearers were her grandsons and honorary pallbearers were Dannis Kelley, Ben James, Joe Tom Worley, and Gary Parrish.
