HazWilliam Donald Houchins - Waurika, Oklahoma

William Donald Houchins was born November 27, 1922, in Ryan, Oklahoma, to George William and Gracie Belle Osterlow Houchins. Don passed from this life Tuesday August 8, 2006, at the Westbrook Care Center in Waurika at the age of eighty-four. Don and Mildred Newton were married May 7, 1942, in Temple, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death February 21, 2005. Don was a longtime Hastings resident and a member of the Hastings Church of Christ. He worked as water department supervisor for the Hastings Water Dept. He was a contractor for the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers at Waurika Lake until his retirement.

Survivors include: one daughter - Jeaneane Parkey Cook of Hastings, OK; four grandchildren - B.J. Parkey and his wife Audrey, Rachelle Sampley, Colt Sampley, and Cheyenne Cook; and three step-grandchildren - William, Ariel, and Dena.

Funeral services for Mr. Houchins were at 10:00 AM, Thursday, August 10, 2006, at the Dudley Funeral Home Chapel in Waurika, with Kevin Howell officiating. Burial was in the Hastings Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hastings Church of Christ.
