D L "Don" Adkins
D L "Don" Adkins, 77, of Duncan, Oklahoma, passed from this life January 24, 2018, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born April 20, 1940, in Waurika, Oklahoma, to Ben and Idell (Musgraves) Adkins. He married Gloria "Sue" Miller in Waurika, on May 23, 1965. He served his country in the U.S. Army and worked as a tire salesman, and Goodyear Store Manager and for a time for the Department of Corrections. He was a Baptist, baptized on April 6, 1970. He loved reading, especially Westerns which he also enjoyed watching in movies. He loved hunting, expecially dove hunting, football and basketball. He also enjoyed playing Wahoo, Uno and Dominoes.
Don was preceded in death by his parents Ben and Idell Adkins, his brothers Wilton and Pete Adkins, and his sister Nelda Martin.
Survivors include: his wife Sue, of the home; daughters La Donna and her husband Robert Force of Graham, TX, and Diana and her husband Jason Angerstein of Early, TX; brothers Benny, Gerald, and Jim Adkins; and grandchildren Jessica Simpson, Shayla Simpson, Jake Angerstein, and Cameron Force.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 27, 2018, at the Sugden Cemetery with Jim Ikner and Noel Curington officiating. Visitation will be Saturday morning from 10:00 AM to noon at the Dudley Funeral Home Chapel. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.dudleyfuneralhomes.com.
