Davy Lee Bernethy passed from this life Sunday, May 23, 2004, at the age of seventy-three. He was born June 20, 1930, to Drewey and Lula Belle Bernethy, in Lubbock, Texas. He and Velena Elkins were united in marriage July 2, 1954, in Littlefield, Texas. He was self-employed and ran Bernethy's Vinyl Repaqir and Upholstery. He was a member of Odd Fellows in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Survivors include: two sons - Guy Willis Bernethy and his wife Sue Ann, and Bret Alan Bernethy and his wife Robbie Dean; one daughter - Donna Lee Bernethy Lovelady and her husband Kenneth; a sister-in-law - Laverne Bernethy of Dimmitt, TX; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Velena, two brothers - J.D. and Orville, and one brother and one sister at birth.

Graveside services for Mr. Bernethy were at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, May 25, 2004, at Waurika Cemetery with Noel Curington officiating. Burial was in Waurika Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika.
