David Charlie Kent
David Charlie Kent was born November 14, 1945 in Waurika, Oklahoma to Arlie
David and Ina Jean (Dollar) Kent. He passed from this life Sunday, October 9,
2011 at his home in Waurika at the age of sixty-five. He and Cheryl Lee Dunn
were married January 25, 1969 in Waurika. He served his country in the United
States Navy in Vietnam. David graduated from the University of Oklahoma
and received his Masters Degree from the Metropolitan Collegiate Institute of
London, England. He was a teacher and the director of St. Joseph's Hospital.
He was the director of Radiology at Jefferson County Hospital. He taught
radiology at Integris Hospital in Oklahoma City and Comanche County Memorial in
Lawton. He and his students were always receiving the highest of awards and
accomplishments. He was a member of the Radiology Society and at one time served
as vice president. He was very active in the VFW and an avid OU football fan.
David is survived by his wife - Cheryl Kent of the home in Waurika, son - Joseph Kent of Waurika, daughters- Kim Bridges and her husband Jonathan of Healdton, and Tara Van Houten and her husband Brad of Waurika, grandchildren - Wyatt Jennings, Brendan Van Houten, McKenzie Van Houten, Jonathan Bridges, and Alexis Bridges, Cousins- Sue, David, Royce, Mike, and Nancy, uncle - Ira Dollar, and sisters in law - Trish, Allison, and Dora.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial service will be Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at 11:30 AM at the First Baptist Church in Waurika. Memorials may be made to Jefferson County Hospital or Integris Hospital Auxiliary.
