Dan Harold Ryan was born May 7, 1921, in Ryan, Oklahoma, to Albert and Maude Ryan. Dan passed from this life Monday, October 23, 2006, at his home in Ryan at the age of eighty-five. Dan and Ann Burnett were married September 16, 1946, in Henrietta, Texas. He served his country in World War II in the United States Army. He was a builder and a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include: his wife, Ann, of the home in Ryan, OK; one son - Walker and his wife Linda Ryan; three grandchildren - Joel Walker Ryan and his wife Sonya, Jackie Massey, and Randy and his wife Ginna Massey; seven great-grandchildren - Mia Rae Ryan, Julian Walker Ryan, Stormee Massey, Olivia Massey, Abigail Massey, Katy Massey, and Emily Massey; and one brother - Woodrow Ryan.

Mr. Ryan was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and five brothers.

Funeral services for Mr. Ryan were at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, October 25, 2006, at the United Methodist Church in Ryan, Oklahoma, with Steve Harshaw officiating. Burial was in the Ryan Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Ryan. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church Choir.
