Curtis Wayne Chapman

Curtis Wayne Chapman, 77, of Ardmore, Oklahoma, passed from this life September 14, 2013, at the Veterans Center in Ardmore. He was born September 28, 1935, in Albany, Texas, to Joseph Henry and Hester May Barum Chapman. He retired from the military after serving seventeen years in the Army and three years in the Marine Corps, with one year's duty in Vietnam. He then entered the civil service where he worked twenty-five years before his retirement. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans organization.
Curtis and Sandra K. Hill were married November 6, 1999, in Ft Worth, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include: his wife Sandra K. Chapman, of the home in Ardmore, OK; one son, Donald Wesley Sheffield and his wife Brandi of Ft Worth, TX; one daughter, LaFonda Kay and her husband John Henneck of Ft. Worth, TX; one brother Hugh Chapman of Ft. Worth, TX; and two grandchildren, Wesley and Casey.
Graveside services with military honors will be held for Mr. Chapman at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, September 17, 2013, at the Ryan Cemetery with Mark Kunkel officiating. Visitation will be held at the Ryan Funeral Home on Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM, Monday from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM, and Tuesday from 9:00 to 10:30 AM. Burial will be in the Ryan Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Ryan, Oklahoma.
