Cody Wayne Mitchell was born June 19, 1975, to Larry and Linda Mitchell in Duncan, Oklahoma. He passed from this life on February 16, 2002, in Moore, Oklahoma, at the age of 26.

Cody was a graduate of Comanche High School and worked as a wind-up operator for Goodyear in Lawton. He and Sharletha Hickey were united in marriage on September 30, 1995, in Meridian, Oklahoma.

Survivors include: his wife Sharletha, of the home in Comanche, OK; one son - Trevor Wayne Mitchell of Comanche, OK; his parents Larry and Linda Mitchell;one sister - Misti Bain and her husband Daniel, of Oklahoma City, OK; one niece - Brooklin Bain of Oklahoma City, OK; his grandmother - Mary Jo Mitchell; and a host of friends and family.

Cody was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents - Dorothy and Jack Evans; and his paternal grandfather - Pat Mitchell.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 19, 2002, at 2:00 PM at the Praise Assembly of God in Comanche with Gene Vernon and Randy Southerland officiating. Burial was in Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Comanche. Pall bearers were Bubba Hickey, Patrick Dudley, Daniel Bain, Benji Doucet, Jeff Hines, Rodney Biffle, Tim Spoonmore, Jesse Barrick, and Jay Balthrop
