Retired Chief Petty Officer Clyde Lewis Trice passed away Sunday, March 21, 2004, at the age of eighty-nine. He was born January 31, 1915, to Alma and Zack Trice, in Ryan, Oklahoma. Clyde joined the U.S. Nacy in 1933, and retired twenty years later in 1953. During his service in the Navy, he served in World War II, where he and his wife Mavis, were Pearl Harbor survivors. He also served in the Korean War. Following his military service he worked for twenty-four years for Trice Production Company and Oleum Petroleum Company. After retirement Clyde enjoyed twenty years of golfing. He lovingly took care of his wife Mavis during her last years of life.
Survivors include: his son, Bob Trice and his wife Rhoda of Carrollton, TX; his daughter, Mary Ann Ratliff and her husband Marvin, of San Antonio, TX; his sister, Mildred Groceclose, of Waurika, OK; two sister-in-law - Beatrice Hughes and Peggy Baker, of Ryan, OK; four grandsons - Steven Trice, Evan Trice, Lt. Brent Ratliff, Travis Ratliff, and Kelsey Trice.
Graveside services for Mr. Trice were at 2:00 PM, Friday, March 26, 2004, at the Ryan Cemetery. Burial was under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Ryan.
