Clyde Jerry Elkins was born January 9, 1935, in Ft. Worth, Texas, to Myrtle Ledford and James Thomas Elkins. Clyde passed from this life Tuesday, June 27, 2006, at the Jefferson County Hospital at the age of seventy-one. Clyde owned and operated Clyde’s Lynwood Motors and Lynwood Savings and Loan. Clyde served his country in the Korean War. He was a shriner and a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was also a member of the Waurika Church of the Nazarene.

Clyde and Ruth Verdell Wietz were married February 14, 1959. She passed from this life February 15, 2003. Clyde and Juanita Marie Phillips were married April 24, 2003, in Bowie, Texas.

Survivors include: his wife of the home in Waurika; one son - Albert Emmanuel Elkins of WA; five grandchildren - Melissa Mae Elkins, Erin Raechell Elkins, Lucas Thomas Elkins, Lauren Mitchell, and Jordan Alexander; three step-children - Donald Lee Barwick of OR, Larry Dean Barwick of OR, and Susan Marie Hayes of WA; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ruth, daughter Melissa Mae, one brother and one sister.

Interment services for Mr. Elkins were at 9:00 AM, Thursday, June 29, 2006, at Buffalo Springs Cemetery in Bellvue, Texas. Funeral Services were at 11:00 AM, Thursday, June 29, 2006, at the Waurika Church of the Nazarene with Rev. David Gordon officiating. Services were under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jefferson County Hospital in Waurika or the Waurika Church of the Nazarene.
