Cleta Belle Smith

Cleta Belle was born May 31, 1933 in Ryan, Oklahoma to Tinney Mae Maness and Charlie Newton Dalton. She passed from this life Thursday, May 2, 2013 at Westbrook Care Center at the age of seventy-nine.

She and Wade Smith were married July 5, 1950. He preceded her in death March 3, 1963. Cleta worked for Haggar Slacks for over 33 years as a seamstress at both the Temple and Bowie plants. She volunteered for the Ryan Nutrition Center for over 10 years delivering meals. She was a devoted mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers - Charles Dalton and Keith Dalton and great grandson Gage Alsup.

She is survived by her children - Peggy White and husband Curtis of Holliday, Texas, Helen "Short" Dabbs and husband David of Ryan, and Michael Smith and wife Pam of Clarksville, Texas, four sisters - Geneva Ritter and husband Jim of Chandler, Arizona, Goldie Cathey and husband James of Duncan, Oklahoma, Margie Wise and husband Elton of Drummond, Oklahoma and Bobbie McDonald of Ryan, Oklahoma, brother - Jerry Dalton of Ryan, ten grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.

Funeral service will be Monday at 10:00AM at the First Baptist Church in Ryan with Rev. Bob Waitman officiating. Burial will be in the Ryan Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home in Ryan. Visitation will be Saturday from 10AM-6PM and Sunday 1-5PM with family receiving visitors from 4-5PM at the funeral home. (612 Washington) Memorials may be made to the American Kidney Association.
