Cleo Patra Vanderford passed away Thursday, January 3, 2002, at the age of 89. She was born March 8, 1912, to Charles Campbell and Anna Mae Welch Campbell in Ryan, Oklahoma. She was a graduate of Sugden High School. She and Austin Vanderford were united in marriage on June 17, 1928, in Waurika, Oklahoma. Austin preceded her in death on May 13, 2000. She and her husband farmed for many years in Nebraska. She was also a homemaker. Mrs. Vanderford was of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include: two nephews - Wayne Elkins and Gene Elkins, both of Waurika, OK; and one niece - Carolyn Dippel, also of Waurika.

She is also preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Eugie Elkins, and one sister, Dorothy Muzny.

Services for Mrs. Vanderford were held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, January 5, 2002, at the Dudley Funeral Home Chapel in Waurika. Burial was in the Waurika Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika.
