Clarence Don Niblett was born to Jewel and Lonnie Fay Niblett on January 9, 1927 in Temple, Oklahoma. Clarence passed from this life on March 4, 2001, in Temple Manor at the age of 74. After serving his country in the United States Navy, he received WWII Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal and Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal. He later entered the US Air Force as a Supply Technician and retired from the military October 1956. Clarence graduated from college and entered the teaching field, later becoming the Principal of Hastings Elementary School. Clarence married Eva Joyce Lilley on August 5, 1949 in Waurika, Oklahoma. Clarence retired as Postmaster of the Hastings Post Office.
Clarence is survived by his wife, Eva Joyce of the home in Hastings, Oklahoma; one son Randall Lynn of Glenn Heights, Texas; two daughters Donna and her husband Guerry Douglass of The Woodlands, Texas, and Karen and her husband Tom Ellis of Flower Mound, Texas. He is also survived by two brothers, Royce Pete Niblett of Hastings, Oklahoma, and Charley Joe Niblett of El Dorado, Texas; four sisters, Wynonna Jean Votaw of Madera, California; Betty Jane Pollick of Nacogdoches, Texas; Mary Ann Jones of Duncan, Oklahoma and Doris Fay Davies of Cloves, California; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Clarence was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 7, 2001, at 10:00 AM at Hastings Bapist Church with Ken Coleman presiding. Burial was in Hastings Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika.
