Charles "Chuck" Alan Thompson
Charles "Chuck" Alan Thompson of Ryan, OK was born on March 24, 1971. He passed from this life on November 23, 2019 and entered his heavenly home at the age of 48. Chuck was blessed with an amazing set of parents: Diane Thompson, his mother; A.C. Thompson, his father; and Geree Thompson, his step-mother. Chuck graduated from Ryan High School in 1989. He married the love of his life, Retta Thompson, on April 3, 1988. He became a Christian in 1999 and was baptized at the First Baptist Church of Ryan, OK. He was a member of Crossbrand Cowboy Church in Waurika, OK.
Chuck spent much of his career as a truck driver with some of his best friends. However, Chuck found his true calling in life when he became a Registered Nurse. He was very passionate about caring for others in their ill times. Others recognized his gift as he was bestowed the Guardian Angel Award on several occasions. Chuck enjoyed the outdoors while hunting and fishing throughout his life. He enjoyed being around animals, especially horses. Toward the end of his life he found solitude in making custom knives. However, Chuck's greatest joy was spending time with his family. He enjoyed watching his daughters play sports and show animals. He enjoyed going on vacation with his wife and with his family as often as possible. Some of his most joyous times were spent with his little buddy, Drake, and his most recent grandson, Kingston.
Chuck is survived by: his parents A.C. Thompson and wife Geree of Grady, OK; his wife Retta Thompson of Ryan, OK; daughters Shelby Thompson of Pueblo, CO, and Hayley Glasgow and husband Kerry of Apache, OK; grandchild Kingston Glasgow; siblings Kristi Tarwater and husband Bobby of Blanchard, OK, Jami Davis and husband Shane of Ringling, OK, Desiree Allen and husband Leland of Ringling, OK, and Ace Thompson and wife Nicole of Tuttle, OK. Chuck had other family members and friends whom he loved dearly.
Chuck was preceded in death by his mother Diann Thompson.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 PM, Monday, December 2, at Crossbrand Cowboy Church in Waurika, OK with Bro. Kerry Glasgow officiating and Bro. Mark Kunkel and Ricky Phillips assisting.
