Choyce Keith Davis
Choyce Keith Davis, Ryan, OK, was born December 22, 1929, to Harry and Hazel Moore Davis in Waurika, OK. He passed from this life July 17, 2012 in the Waurika Nursing Home.
Mr. Davis was a graduate of Ryan High School, class of 1948. He was an employee of the Rock Island Railroad as clerk agent, retiring from the Union Pacific. He served with the U.S. Army 2nd Infantry in Korea during the war and was a retired army reservist. He and Winnie "Jean" Fox were married in 1958 in Ryan. Choyce was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ryan, the VFW and was a Gideon.
He will be remembered by his family as a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather who loved to travel, was a rail enthusiast, and who never met a stranger.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Robin McDonald and Prudence McCann.
Survivors include: his wife of the home; daughter Nancy and her husband Kyle of Ryan, OK; sons Jim of Boerne, TX, Keith of Auberry, CA, and Jon Davis and his wife Shelly of Canyon, TX; sister Kay and her husband Roger Darnell of Centerville, GA; brothers Harry Davis and his wife Anne of Saginaw, TX, Max Davis and his wife Carolyn of Little Rock, AR, and George Davis of Oklahoma City, OK; six grandchildren - Brittany and her husband Jeff Springfield, Taylor, Trevor and Heather Davis, Tanner West and his wife Shannon, and Morgan West.
Services for Mr. Davis will be Thursday, July 19, 2012, at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church in Ryan with Jason Vance officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 18 from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM. The family will be in attendance from 6:00 to 7:00 PM. Burial will be in the Ryan Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Ryan. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ministerial Alliance at the First Baptist Church in Ryan.
