Charlus C.T. Truman Bishop

Charlus C.T. Truman Bishop was born December 4, 1919, in Grayson County, Texas, to Lee and Nannie Bishop and passed from this life Thursday, May 22, 2003, at his home in Comanche, Oklahoma, at the age of eighty-three.

C.T. worked at Sun-Ray Oil Refinery until 1976. He was co-owner of Comanche/Meridian Nursing Homes and was a retired farmer/rancher. C.T. and Coweta Eastham were united in marriage January 3, 1944, in San Francisco, CA. He was a long-time and faithful member of Praise Assembly of God Church, a member of Stephens County Livestock Growers Association, and a big supporter of the Comanche FFA.

Survivors include: his wife of fifty-nine years, Cloweta, of the home in Comanche; two sons - Terry and his wife Jeannie of Comanche, OK, and Gary and his wife Gerry of Chickasha, OK; one daughter - Glenda Allen and her husband David of Comanche, OK; five grandchildren - Tracy and Nick Allen, Jeff and Dana Allen Davis, David and Carrie Bishop Witte, Benjamin Bishop, and Ronnie and Sandra Bishop Rhone; five great-grandchildren - Megan Allen, Breanna Allen, Jacob Davis, C.J. Rhone, and Rowdy Rhone; two brothers - Oscar Bishop and Lee Bishop; and two sisters - Betty McIntosh and Helen Lucchi.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters - Doug Bishop, Dorothy Kramer, Leola Hammer, Phinas E. Bishop, and Jim Bishop.

C.T. was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and patriarch of the Bishop family.

Funeral services for Mr. Bishop were at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, May 27, 2003, at Praise Assembly of God Church in Comanche, with Rev. Warren Harkins officiating. Burial was in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Comanche.

Pallbearers were Jackie Gordon, David Griffin, Tommy Dobbins, Jerreld Bowen, Ben Bishop and Don Thomas. Honorary pallbearers were Kenneth Collinsworth, Buck Buchanan, Bud Griffin, Ben Bearden, Jack Whitfield, Donnie Foraker, and Choc Nichols.
