Charlie Carrol Rose was born June 24, 1916 in Savoy, Texas to Jesse B. and Mildred Ellen (Melton) Rose. He passed from this life Thursday, January 8, 2009 at the Westbrook Care Center in Waurika at the age of ninety-two. He worked for Halliburton from 1944-1968, operated concession stand at Clear Creek Lake 1969-1970, and the city of Waurika from 1972 until his retirement in 1981. He and Lois Echols were married in Waurika on July 1981. She preceded him in death in February 2009. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Waurika.
He is survived by his sons- Jimmie Rose of Duncan, Phillip Rose of Ardmore, Kenney Rose of Waurika, daughters - Lawanna Blevins of Waurika and Paula Scott of Bray, Oklahoma, stepson - Don Harris of Albuquerque, New Mexico, one brother - J.D. Rose of Del City, Oklahoma, and sister- Mary Kay Atkins of Duncan, Oklahoma, and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife - February 4, 2007, one daughter Linda Carrol Gilbert, three brothers and one sister.
Graveside service will be Sunday, January 11, 2009 at 1:00PM at the Waurika Cemetery with Rev. Jeff McLemore officiating. Burial is under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home in Waurika. Visitation will be Saturday, 10AM-6PM, Sunday 10AM- Noon.
