Charles Franklin Logan

Charles Franklin Logan of Waurika, Oklahoma passed away April 11, 2012 at Select Specialty Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma surrounded by his family. He was born August 27, 1926 in Comanche, Oklahoma to Fred and Mona Fisher-Logan.

Charles and Burnis Ladymon Logan were married August 31, 1947 in Henrietta, Texas. Charles was raised in Comanche and attended school there. Together he and his wife lived in Comanche where their first child Sharon was born. With a move to Duncan their second daughter, Sheila was born and in 1955 the Logans moved to Waurika, Oklahoma. Charles resided in Waurika with his wife until his passing. Charles enjoyed working in the auto-parts industry. He started his career in 1953 working for Paul Jones Motor Parts and in 1955 he continued his career with this company as manager for the Waurika store which lasted for 22 years. Charles returned back to Duncan originally with Paul Jones which later became Thornton Pump and Supply. He retired from Thornton's at the age of 72.

Charles was one of the inaugural members of the Waurika Jaycees, he helped develop Jaycee Park and also helped to establish the Waurika Rattlesnake Hunt. Charles was also active in summer league softball, where he had the opportunity to coach his daughters. Charles was an avid gardner and enjoyed sharing his tomatoes with friends and family. He also loved working in his yard, always keeping it immaculate. He was a loving husband, father, and papa.

Mr. Logan is survived by his wife Burnis of the home in Waurika, daughter - Sheila and husband Pete Gutierrez of Okay, Oklahoma , son-in-law - Stan Richardson of Waurika, Oklahoma, Grandchildren Banessa Gutierrez of Muskogee, Oklahoma and her significant other Ash Ali; Derek Richardson and special friend Jodi McDonald of Waurika, Oklahoma and Bettina and Joseph Davis of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Mona Logan, younger brother Michael and baby sister Ruby, mother and father-in-law Bob and Bernice Ladymon and his beloved daughter Sharon Richardson.

Funeral Service for Mr. Logan will be Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Dudley Funeral Chapel in Waurika, Oklahoma with Rusty Stowe of Exchange Avenue Baptist Church in Oklahoma City officiating. Interment will be in the Waurika Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika. Visitation will be Friday from 11AM-8PM with family receiving visitors from 5-7PM.
