Charlie Lawley passed from this life Thursday, December 5, 2002, in the Jefferson County Hospital at the age of sixty-five. He was born November 24, 1937, to Odie and Mabel Lawley in Lawton, Oklahoma. He worked for the Waurika Public Schools in the maintenance department. He and Joan Lawley were united in marriage June 23, 1960, in Lawton, Oklahoma. He was a member of the Addington Baptist Church.

Survivors include: his wife, Joan, of the home in Waurika; one son, Ben Lawley of Farmington, NM; three daughters - Mary Bernard of Waurika, OK, Milissie Taylor of Sulphur, LA, and Chris Dunkin of Waurika, OK; one sister - Ella Mae Heath of Burgaw, NC; and eleven grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents Odie and Mabel Lawley, and one son, John Paul.

Funeral services for Mr. Lawley were at 2:00 PM, Monday, December 9, 2002, in Addington Baptist Church with Mike Bernhardt officiating. Burial was in the Waurika Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika.
