Charles Phillip Pruitt passed from this life on Monday, May 26, 2002, at the age of 64. He was born December 6, 1937, to Phillip Leroy and Ila Pruitt in Duncan, Oklahoma. Mr. Pruitt was a self-employed truck driver and worked in the oil fields. He and Faye Jackson were united in marriage on September 16, 1968, in Australia. He was a member of the Meridian Baptist Church.
Survivors include: his wife Faye of the home; two sons - Phillip Dee Pruitt of Ingleside, TX, and Weston Pruitt of Duncan, OK; one daughter - Angelina Ashton of Duncan, OK, and one sister - Priscilla Savage of Comanche, OK; five grandchildren - Phillip Cameron Pruitt, Sean Michael Pruitt, Angelina Ida Marie Pruitt, Albany Brooke Ashton, and Sidney Dawn Ashton; three aunts - Marie Ruth McDonald, Ratta Mae McDonald and Jane Pruitt Harrison; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Leroy and Ila Pruitt, one sister Mary Ann Bright and his infant son, Brandon.
Services for Mr. Pruitt were held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, May 30, 2002, at the Christian Life Cathedral Church with Bill Choate and Rusty Canoy officiating. Burial was in the Fairlawn Cemetery in Comanche under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Comanche.
Pallbearers were: Jim Brasher, Bob Bowden, Bob Ivester, Anthony Goodman, David Goodman, and Phil Whitney. Honorary pallbearers were: Jimmy Barks, J.T. Thompson, Terry Garrett, Roy McWhorter, Bob Whitley, and Bo Erwin.
