Charles Holcombe died on October 15, 2009 , at the Windsor Hills Nursing Center in Oklahoma City . Charles was born in Amarillo , Texas , on April 5, 1946. He lived in Lubbock , Midland , Houston , Galveston , Texas and Ryan , OK , before he and his mother moved to Oklahoma City in the early 1960’s.

He is survived by a sister-in-law, Betty Holcombe, of Lubbock , TX , and nieces Cindy Reed of Richardson , TX , and Barbara Kay Graham of Shallowater, TX. Also, cousins Tommy Dodd, Van Buren, AK, Marilyn Vallario, Round Rock, TX area and Dorothy Seay and family of the Ryan, OK, area. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, William and Ruby Holcombe; a brother, James Carrell Holcombe; and his cousins Don Seay and Clara Beth Schwartz.

Charles Holcombe worked for the Oklahoma County in the County Court House. Charles had many friends who helped him along life’s way: Among those are Frank Layman, Charles and Ann Brice, Harold and Gloria Merideth, Sterling and Martha Arntzen.

He was a long-time, faithful member of the Olivet Baptist Church in Oklahoma City . Charles loved the Lord and his church, and he loved to read the Bible.

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, October 19, 1 p.m. , at the Dudley Funeral Home in Ryan , OK . His pastor, Dr. Steve Kern, will officiate. Burial will be in the Ryan Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home in Ryan. Visitation will be Monday from 11AM-1PM at the funeral home in Ryan.
