Charles A. Dalton

Charles A. Dalton was born November 17, 1945 in Ryan, Oklahoma to Charley and Tinny (Maness) Dalton. He passed away Monday, February 14, 2011 at his home in Ryan at the age of sixty-five. He graduated from Ryan High School in 1964. He entered the U.S. Marine Corp on September 21, 1965. He served with the seventh Communications Battalion 1st Narine Division in Chu Lai, Viet Nam for thirteen months. He served his final three years at Camp Pendleton. He and Brenda Miller were married December 28, 1972 in Wichita Falls, Texas. He was a member of the Lions Club, served on the Ryan City Council for ten years, served as the Commander of the American Legion and on the Ryan Fire Department, as well as serving as an EMT for many years.

He is survived by his wife Brenda of the home in Ryan, three children - Tina Morrison and husband Larry of Ryan, Chuck Dalton and wife Shelly of Wichita Falls, Texas, and Kim Williams and husband Chris of Abilene, Texas, nine grandchildren - Mandi , Amy, and Halie Morrison, Christopher Barrett, Joshua, Hunter and Lindsey Dalton, Taylor and Madison Williams, five sisters - Geneva Ritter of Arizona, Cleta Smith of Waurika, Goldie Cathey of Duncan, Margie Wise of Drummond, and Bobbie McDonald of Ryan, brother - Jerry Dalton of Ryan.

Funeral service will be Thursday, February 17, 2011 at 10:00AM at Ryan First Baptist Church in Ryan with Rev. Jason Vance and Rev. Kelly Griffith officiating. Burial will be in the Ryan Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home in Ryan. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 16, 2011 from 10AM-7PM with family receiving visitors from 5-7PM. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
