Carol Sue (Bennett) Sisson
Carol Sue "Bootie" (Bennett) Sisson, 73, of Waurika, Oklahoma, passed from this life November 20, 2017. She was born November 3, 1944, in Frederick, Oklahoma, to Claude and Winnie (Walls) Bennett. She and Royce Carol Sisson were married August 27, 1963, in Frederick, Oklahoma.
Carol lived and experienced many places as a result of Royce's military service. Places they lived included: Altus, Oklahoma; Camp Pendleton, California; Camp Lejune, North Carolina; Cherry Point, South Carolina; and New Orleans, Louisiana, but in 1980, the family settled in Waurika, Oklahoma. Carol was a Christian. Carol held many positions over the years, but when she retired from the workforce, she was employed by the Waurika School System. For many years she was actively involved with the VFW Ladies' Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Royce "Stubby" Sisson; her parents Claude and Winnie Bennett; her brothers Jerry, Wayne, and Cecil Bennett; and her sisters, Laura (Bennett) Ives and Nancy (Bennett) Villenueva.
Survivors include sons Eugene Sisson and wife Heather of Tacoma, Washington, Jerry Sisson and wife Donna of Waurika, Oklahoma; daughters Jackie Richardson and husband Rick of Tyler, Texas, Nancy Spain and husband Tim of Troy, Tennessee; grandchildren Allie (Sisson) Ray, Ben Sisson, Serenitty Hess-Marks, Sydney (Sisson) Freeman, Haley Hamby, Brennan and Brileigh Spain; great-grandchildren Leila Ray, Ivey Freeman, Bentley Jenkins; brothers Don Bennett and wife Jesse of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Marion "Beaver" Bennett of Waurika, Oklahoma, Keith Bennett and wife Sherry of Guthrie, Oklahoma, Terry Bennett and wife Clairiece of Altus, Oklahoma, and Gene Bennett of Wichita Falls, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews; and close friends. There were three friends whom Carol considered as close and dear friends that she made while Royce was in the military and with who she had maintained in contact with through the years, Ms. Sylvia Sheffield, Ms. Debbie Bohnet, and Ms. Connie Pugh.
Funeral services for Carol will be at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, November 25, 2017, at the Cross Brand Cowboy Church in Waurika with Donald Bennett officiating. Burial will be in the Frederick Memorial Gardens in Frederick, Oklahoma, under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika. Pallbearers will be Tim Spain, Rick Richardson, Gary Bennett, Barry Bennett, Mical Delaney, and Jarrett Watkins. Visitation will be Friday from 1:00 to 7:00 PM at the Dudley Funeral Home Chapel in Waurika. The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Rathgeber Hospitality House of Wichita Falls.
