Calven Leslie Porter passed from this life Saturday, May 15, 2004, at the age of seventy-nine. He was born September 26, 1924, to Lafayette and Mozella Porter, in Waurika, Oklahoma. Mr. Porter was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was Chief of the Building Inspection Division for the City of Houston. He and Ella Stanley were united in marriage January 9, 1943.

Survivors include: his wife Ella Porter; two daughters - Linda K. Porter of Houston, TX, and Jo Porter Hyatt of Leesburg, FL; one sister - Faye Richardson; one brother - Otis Porter of Clute, TX; six grandchildren - Todd, Joshua, Brian, Ashlen, Wesley, and Melanie.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Laith and Mozelle Porter.

Funeral services for Mr. Porter were at 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 20, 2004, at the Waurika United Methodist Church with Reed Montgomery officiating. Burial was in the Waurika Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika.
