Burnis Leona Ladymon Logan

Burnis Logan was born to Bob and Bernice Ladymon in Mt. View, Oklahoma, on July 21, 1929. She became ill and was admitted to St. John's Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she passed from this life on February 28, 2014, surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Logan and her family had many opportunities to live in various states. They finally settled in Comanche, Oklahoma when she was a freshman in high school. It was there that she met the love of her life, Charles Logan. She graduated from Comanche High School in 1947. When Charles proposed he asked her to live with him for fifty years but their marriage actually lasted sixty-four years until Charles passed away in 2012. They were married in Henrietta, Texas on August 31, 1947. To this union two daughters were born, Sharon, then, twenty-two months later, Sheila.
Burnis was always active in her girls' lives. She attended ball games, coached softball and other activities in which they were involved. She also attended many of her grandchildren's sporting events. She was active in Jaycee Jaynes, being one of the inaugural members. She was active in her church for many years. She was a member of the Promise Sunday School Class at the First Baptist Church in Waurika. She worked at City Drugstore and Brown Drug. She retired so she could dedicate many years to her daughter Sharon's care, which she loved doing. Burnis lived the past two years with her daughter Sheila and her husband Pete. She loved getting pedicures and spending time shopping or just sitting outside to enjoy the warm weather. Most of all, she cherished her grandchildren who adore her. She also enjoyed the pleasure of attending the birth of her sweet great-granddaughter.
Mrs. Logan was preceded in death by her husband Charles Logan, her daughter Sharon Richardson, her parents Bob and Bernice Ladymon, and two brothers - Leo and Bobby Ladymon.
Survivors include: her daughter Sheila and her husband Pete Gutierrez of Okay, OK, and son-in-law Stan Richardson of Waurika, OK; grandchildren - Banessa Gutierrez and fiancee Ash Ali of Muskogee, OK, Derek Richardson and wife Jodi of Duncan, OK, and Bettina Davis and her husband Joseph of Broken Arrow, OK; great-granddaughter Minka Davis; and step-great-grandchildren - Izaya Stottlemyre, Kasey, Kenzie, Kori, and Reece Parker.
