Edra Boyd Whitsett
Edra Boyd Whitsett was born April 23, 1924 in Hammon, Oklahoma to Vurnia Wolfe and Lee Whitsett. He passed from this life October 8, 2014 at his home in Ryan.
He and Ruby Inez Sparks were married April 23, 1945 in Duncan, Oklahoma. He served his country in the United States Army. He was a mechanic at various service stations, Green Merrill and retired from Halliburton after 30 years of service. He loved collecting old cars and antiques and was a member of various car clubs. He was a member of the Ryan Assembly of God Church where he served as Sunday School Superintendent and as a deacon for over 40 years.
He is survived by his children - Sheneista Gillum, Brenda Lewis and husband Paul, Kelvin Whitsett, Lloyd Whitsett and wife Connie, and Floyd Whitsett, brother - Darrell Whitsett, 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and his beloved cat Ring.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 2008, and siblings - Alton, Clarence, and Darlene.
Funeral service for Mr. Whitsett will be Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 11:00AM at the Assembly of God Church in Ryan. Visitation will be Friday from 10AM-8PM at Dudley Funeral Home in Ryan. Family will receive visitors from 5-8PM.
