Bonnie Ann Lokey

Bonnie Ann Lokey died December 7, 2003, at the Westbrook Nursing Home in Waurika, Oklahoma. She was born March 25, 1905, at Legate Indian Territory, to Will and Florence Anthony. She was a life-long resident of Jefferson County, Oklahoma. On February 3, 1924, she married Roy A. Wirt. They farmed east of Waurika, and in the late 1940's bought the Waurika Plumbing and Sheet Metal Shop.

She married Elmer Lokey December 1, 1963. She continued her farming interest and worked part-time outside the home. He preceded her in death June 6, 1979. She was a long-time member of the United Methodist Church, the Berean Sunday School Class and the Banner Quilting Club.

Survivors include: a daughter - Helen Wirt Sims of Waurika, OK; two grandchildren - Jack Sims and his wife Rosemary of Belton, TX, and Royce Sims of Colorado Springs, CO; three great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and two brothers - Claude Anthony and Glen Anthony, both of Waurika, OK.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lokey were at 1:30 PM, Thursday, December 11, 2003, at the United Methodist Church in Waurika with Pastor Reed Montgomery officiating. Burial was in the Waurika Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika.
