Bonnie Juevene Clayton Lewis

Bonnie Juevene "Clayton" Lewis, 86, passed from this life at home in Byers, Texas on May 11, 2015. She was born July 16, 1928 in Jefferson County Oklahoma to Joe and Alene York Clayton.
Bonnie married Sidney Lewis in Henrietta, Texas on November 5, 1948. They started their life together in Comanche, Oklahoma, then moved to Waurika, where they raised their family. She worked for Haggar Slacks in Temple, Oklahoma for many years. She then worked as a waitress at Molly's Cafe and JR's truckstop. She never knew a stranger. She was a kind and giving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She always had her house open to anyone in need and would always cook you a home-cooked meal when you showed up. She was one of the strongest and hardest-working women we have ever known.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Alene, her husband Sidney, and sons Terry and Kelly.
Survivors include: sons - Larry Lewis and his wife Deborah of Waurika, OK, and Jerry Lewis of Waurika, OK; daughters - Nita and her husband Aaron Webster of Byers, TX, and Sharon and her husband Frank Trujillo of Denver, CO; brother Ray Clayton and his wife Judy of Spokane, WA; sisters Betty and her husband Bruce Wiest of Byers, TX, Sue and her husband James Gardner of Lawton, OK, and Velma Jo Beeville of Ringling, OK; twenty-seven grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, with more on the way. She had numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly, and many lifelong friends who were very dear to her.
Funeral services for Mrs. Lewis will be at 2:00 PM, Friday, May 15, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Comanche, Oklahoma, with James Keenum and Eli Gardner officiating, with burial to follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery in Comanche. Visitation will be Thursday, May 14, from noon to 8:00 PM at the Dudley Funeral Home in Waurika, Oklahoma, with the family in attendance fron 5:00 to 7:00 PM.
