Bobby Ray Wheeler

Bobby Ray Wheeler, 80, of Addington, Oklahoma, passed from this life January 14, 2018. He was born August 7, 1937, in Addington, Oklahoma, to Homer Jeff and Myrtle (Hawkins) Wheeler. He was married to Lavetta Wolfe and later to Peggy Lewis. He was a rancher from the time he could ride and worked his way up to foreman of Price Ranch in Addington before starting his own cattle operation. He was a lifetime resident and rancher in Jefferson County. He was a member of the Addington Baptist Church and was a member of the Quarter Horse Association and the Oklahoma Cattlemen's Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Bobby Ray Wheeler, Jr., his brother Homer Jeff Wheeler Jr., his sister Jean Stegall, and his great-granddaughter Cheyann Wheeler.
Survivors include: his daughter Cathy Lynn Wheeler-Cox of Walters, OK; grandchildren Keith and Leslie Wheeler of Duncan OK, Lori and Chris Knott of Columbia, SC, Lisa Cox of Carrolton TX,, and Loretta Diane Wheeler of Texas; great grandchildren Colton and Sarah Wheeler of Wichita Falls,TX, Isabella Wheeler of Washington DC, Christina Wheeler of Washington DC, Savanna Knott of Columbia, SC, Scarlett and Lilly Knott of Columbia, and Riley Cox of Carrolton TX, Tiffany Santana of Duncan, OK, Courtney McGill of Duncan, OK, Jacobi Arnold of Comanche, OK, Haley Davis of Duncan, OK,
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at the Dudley Funeral Home Chapel in Waurika, with Bob Waitman and Colton Wheeler officiating. Interment will be in the Addington Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM at the Dudley Funeral Home in Waurika with the family attending from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. Pallbearers will be Colton Wheeler, Buddy Covington, David Perry, David Heron, Leo Lambert, Joe Sanchez Jr., and Phil Webb. Memorials may be made to the Addington Cemetery.
