Billy Eugene Yeager
Billy Eugene Yeager was born November 18, 1943 in Waurika, Oklahoma to Cynthia Ruth Brown-Yeager and Ballard Wendell Yeager. He passed from this life July 29, 2014 in Arlington, Texas at the age of 70.
Bill grew up in Waurika and was a graduate of Waurika High School. He and Neva Wirt were married October 14, 1967 in Waurika, Oklahoma. He resided over 30 years in Wichita Falls, Texas where he raised his family. He lived in Arlington, Texas at the time of his death. He served his country in the United States Army. He was a welder at Piping Engineering and Maintenance for the United States Postal Service. He was a member of the Pipe fitters Union and US Postal Union. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Waurika where he enjoyed working with the youth. Bill lost his dad when he was seven years old. He was raised by a faithful Christian mother who instilled in him and inner strength, faith in God and a hard work ethic. Bill always had the heart of a champion as witnessed by anyone who watched him play football, he loved all sports. He was a quiet gentle man who laughed easily and enjoyed the laughter of others. He felt that his greatest accomplishment in life was his family. Despite the loss of his father at such an early age he set an example to all who knew him of what a son, husband, daddy, grandfather "DaDa", brother and uncle should be by loving unconditionally.
He is survived by his wife Neva of the home, daughters - Itaska Ruth "Tassie" Hodge of Arlington, Texas and Angela and Eric Simmons of Petrolia, Texas, grandchildren Cody Kenyon, Kelsey Jean Kenyon, Kaylee Ann Kenyon, Kirsten Elaine Kenyon, Jaci Lynn Hodge, Billy Cole Kenyon, Taedyn Blake Turner, Tyecen Cade Turner, and Jazlan Nicole Williams, Great grandchildren- Zayden, Zaylee and Ryker Kenyon, Siblings - George and Judy Yeager of Jacksonville, North Carolina, Ruetna Kleidon of Comanche, Oklahoma, Betty Phillips of Groesbeck, Texas, Sammie and Harold Hammonds of Waurika, Oklahoma, and Aleene and Larry Dilbeck of Duncan, Oklahoma.
Bill was preceded in death by his mother and father, brother Joseph Lee Yeager, brothers -in-law Fuzz Phillips and Bob Kleidon and his favorite aunt Gladys Driskill.
Memorial service will be Saturday, August 2, 2014 at 2PM at the First Baptist Church in Waurika with Rev. Tommy Billings officiating. Memorials may be made to the Waurika First Baptist Church Youth Fund.
