Billy Bowden Pope

Billy Bowden Pope, 77, of Norman, Oklahoma, passed from this life January 17, 2017. He was born March 3, 1939, in Waurika, Oklahoma, to William Martin and Mabel Irene (Wall) Pope. He and Linda Carol Henderson were married December 2, 1960 in Waurika, Oklahoma. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Waurika. He served his country in the U.S. Army in Korea in the late 1950's. He worked as a carpenter for Bill Rich and Starriett Watkins. He retired from the Jefferson County Agriculture Extension Office.
Mr. Pope was preceded in death by his wife Linda in 2012, his parents William and Mabel Pope, and two sisters - Edna and Jacquelyn Ann, and one brother Jimmy Pope.
Survivors include: his daughter Michelle Secrest and her husband Glenn of Norman, OK and his brother Randy Pope and his wife Ruth of Wichita Falls, TX.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM, Friday, January 20, 2017, at the First Baptist Church in Waurika with Noel Curington officiating with a viewing at 9:30 AM. Burial will be in the Waurika Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika. After the services family and friends are welcome to come visit at Bill's Catfish. Pallbearers will be Starriett Watkins, Kenny Wall, Timothy Pope, James Pope, John Pope, Donnie Forsyth, Keith Henderson, Brian Showalter, Chad Forsyth, and Bowden Forsyth. Visitation will be Thursday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM at the Dudley Funeral Home Chapel in Waurika. Condolences may be sent to the family at Dudley Funeral Homes of South Central Oklahoma.
