Billie Wayne Richardson Woods

Billie went to be with her Lord on December 27, 2009.  She was born September 20, 1932 in Bridgeport, Texas to W.D. (Dick) and Irene (Taylor) Richardson.  They moved back to Waurika shortly after where Billie attended school graduating in 1951.  She and John Woods were married June 1, 1949 in Henrietta, Texas just after she completed her sophomore year.  She finished high school while John was serving in the U.S. Marine Corps in Korea.

After high school, Billie worked at the telephone office in Waurika.  When John returned home, they moved to Oklahoma City where they lived until May, 2007 when they came back to Waurika.

Billie raised four children and worked at two automobile dealerships in Oklahoma City before managing a television and appliance store for the next 30 years.  She was a caring and giving sister, a loving wife, mother and grandmother and adored by her countless nieces and nephews.

Billie was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Jimmy.  She is survived by her husband, John; her children Terri and Steve Gibson of Waurika, Bill and Sheery of Beebe, Arkansas, Steve and Karen and Mike and Carol of Oklahoma City, two brothers, Harold and Lynette of Oak Harbor, Washington, Dewey and Ann of Waurika; two sisters, Shirley Cephus of Waurika, Jeanne and Cletus Gower of Temple and 2 sisters in law, Helen Richardson and Mary and Charlie Abernathy of Waurika; grandchildren, Laura and Jason Thomas, and Stephanie and Spence Reynolds of Waurika; Aimee and Jerry Odom of Benton, Arkansas, Adam Woods of River City, Louisiana, Chad, Kody and Brooke Woods, Amber and Justin Caskaske, Brittany and Jesse Brown, and Taylor and Ryan Woods of Oklahoma City; Fourteen great grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services were at 10 am Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at the Waurika church of Christ with Noel Curington officiating.  Burial was in Sugden cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home in Waurika.
