Billie Jean (Fuller) Johnson
Long-time resident of the Irving Community of Jefferson County, Oklahoma, Billie Jean Johnson died Monday, April 23, 2018 in her home at the age of 90 years. She was born January 10, 1928, in Ryan, Oklahoma, to Jack and Daisy (Cook) Fuller.
Billie and Roe Johnson were married February 24, 1945. Their marriage lasted 72 years and 11 months. Roe and Billie farmed and raised four children. They taught them to work hard and love the Lord by reading the Bible daily and taking them regularly to the Irving Baptist Church. Roe and Billie supported their children in their school sports, music, church, and 4-H activities. She promoted honesty, integrity, reassurance, and a strong work ethic to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren -by whom she will be sorely missed.
Survivors include her children: Tom Johnson and wife Cheri, Don Johnson and wife Gayle, Peggy Fontaine Bates and husband Mike, Sheila Traynham and husband Joe. Grandchildren: Jeffrey Johnson, Jonathan Johnson, Jared Johnson, Jordan Johnson, Stacy Traynham Merritt, Jodi Traynham Johnson, Jennifer Johnson Wade, Jeremiah Johnson and Conrad Fontaine. Billie enjoyed visiting with family and friends, cooking and quilting. She was active in the local Home Extension Club and all the church's activities. She will be remembered and missed by her many family members and friends, but they can be comforted by the fact that she is catching up on old times with all of those who have gone before, and is basking in the Glory of God.
A celebration of her life will be at 11:30 AM, Thursday, April 26, 2018, at the Irving Baptist Church with Bro. Billy Rhone and Bro. Mike Bates officiating. Burial will be before the service, at 10:00 AM at the Ryan Cemetery. Friends and family are welcome. Grandchildren will serve as Pallbearers. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Wednesday at the Dudley Funeral Home Chapel in Ryan. Memorial gifts may be made to the Irving Baptist Church, 17017 N 2770 Rd., Ryan, OK 73565.
