Laura Lillian Billie Chesley

Laura Lillian "Billie" Chesley passed away on December 29, 2012 at Westbrook Care Center in Waurika, Oklahoma after a long illness. She was born on July 17, 1941 at the Lawton Indian Hospital to Millard and Maybelle Sumpter Sloan.

Billie led a good and fruitful life serving her family for 51 years. She was mostly a homemaker but did work for several years as a supervisor at a vocational school after the children left the nest. She and Gene were married February 16, 1962 in Globe, Arizona. They moved to Waurika in 1992.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister - Darlene Boon.

She is survived by her husband Gene of Waurika, children - Darla Carpenter of Duncan, Lyle Chesley of Homer, Alaska, Bryan Chesley of Waurika, and Larry Chesley of Homer, Alaska, sister - Kay Winkler of Wichita Falls, Texas, brother - Ed Sloan of Waurika, 12 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service for Mrs. Chesley will be Monday, December 31, 2012 at 2:00PM at Dudley Funeral Home Chapel in Waurika. She will be entered into rest at the Chesley family site in the Emery Pioneer Cemetery near Safford, Arizona Friday, January 4, 2012 at 2:00PM.
