Billie Burke Bernard passed from this life Friday, December 26, 2003, in the Westbrook Nursing Center in Waurika, Oklahoma, at the age of eighty-four. Billie was born April 18, 1919, in Waurika, Oklahoma, to Frank and Alta Bernard.

Survivors include: three sons - Bennie Bernard of Devol, OK, Frank Bernard of Hollis, OK, and Jim Bernard of Waurika, OK; one daughter - Shirley Duhadway of Waurika, OK, Beth Campbell of San Jose, CA, and Anita Ariente of San Jose, CA; fifteen grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.

Billie was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Alta Bernard; one daughter - Billy Ruth Matthews; two sisters - Mary Ruth Potvin and Yvonne Miller; and two grandsons - Michael Krby and Ricky Elkins.

Funeral services for Mr. Bernard were at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, December 30, 2003, at the Addington Baptist Church with Curtis Plant officiating. Burial was in the Waurika Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika.
