Elmer LeRoy Bill Helms

Elmer LeRoy "Bill" Helms was born May 24, 1933 in Albion, Oklahoma to Ella Jane Hall and William E. Helms. He passed from this life Monday, May 27, 2013 at the Comanche County Memorial Hospital at the age of 80.
He and Irene Dry were married November 14, 1962 in Hobbs, New Mexico. He was a roofing contractor, general contractor, and real estate agent, but his favorite job was being a rancher. He enjoyed taking care of the ranch and when he got to where he couldn't physically do everything his nephew Arlie helped him. His biggest love of all was to spend time with his granddaughter Destiny. He thought the world of her as she thought the same of him.
He is survived by his wife Irene of the home in Waurika, children - Linda Zinn and husband Tony from Waurika, Art Holland and wife Lynette of Arizona, Debbie Robinson and husband Brad of Ft. Worth, Texas, William Eugene from California, brother V.C. "Dutch" Helms, grandchildren - Destiny, Justin, Kalena, Jennifer, Cody,Jerry, Tammy , Shanna, Kerri, and Marley, several great grandchildren, and and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a special nephew - Charles Wayne Andeberg of Phoenix, AZ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter - Betty Sue and siblings - Harvey, Norma, Rae, Grover, Edgar, Lucille, and Lewis"Dub".
Funeral service for Mr. Helms will be Saturday, June 1, 2013 at 10:00AM at the Church of Christ in Waurika with Bob Harrison and Noel Curington officiating. Burial will be in the Waurika Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home in Waurika. Visitation will be Thursday from noon - 8PM and Friday from 9AM-8PM with family receiving visitors from 6-7PM. Memorials may be made to the Waurika Church of Christ.
