Betty Jo Settlemires was born March 29, 1928, in Waurika, Oklahoma, to Joe and Effie Swain Greer. etty passed from this life Thursday, June 8, 2006, at Hospice of Wichita Falls at the age of seventy-eight. Betty and Jr. Settlemires were married July 2, 1945, in Duncan, Oklahoma. Betty worked as a home health and nurses aid, managed Bill’s Fish House and owned and operated Jr’s Truckstop. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Waurika.

Survivors include: her husband Jr. Settlemires, of the home in Waurika, OK; one daughter, Cathy Eugene Stewart; one granddaughter, Catonya Owens; and one great-granddaughter, Hannah Owens.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and four sisters.

Funeral services for Mrs. Settlemires were at 11:00 AM, Monday, June 12, 2006, at the First Baptist Church in Waurika. Burial was in the Waurika Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Wichita Falls, Texas.
