Carrie Beth Liggett was born October 28, 1925 in Waurika, Oklahoma, to Derwood and Ruth Cashion Bodenhamer. Beth passed from this life Friday, July 7, 2006, in Burkburnett, Texas, at the age of eighty. Beth and Leo Floyd Liggett were married June 24, 1950, in Waurika, Oklahoma. Beth was a secretary/cashier for Public Service Company of Oklahoma. She was a member of the Pink Ladies that volunteered numerous hours at Jefferson County Hospital. She was a member of the GFWC Sorosis Club in Waurika. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Waurika, serving as Sunday School and Childrens Secretary. First Baptist Church recently honored Beth for sixty-five years as pianist.
Survivors include: her husband, Leo, of the home in Waurika, OK; one son - William Bill Liggett and his wife Lana of Burkburnett, TX; one brother - Robert Bob Bodenhamer and his wife Ila of Norman, OK; two granddaughters - Heather Watson and her husband Lance of Temple, TX, and Kara Orgain and her husband Alan of Humble, TX; two great-grandchildren - Will Watson and Hadley Beth Watson of Temple, TX; and two aunts - Fannie Jeffrey of Waurika, OK, and Mary Austin of Cisco, TX.
Beth was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services for Mrs. Liggett were at 1:00 PM, Monday, July 10, 2006, at the First Baptist Church in Waurika, with Rev. David Schawver officiating. Burial was in the Waurika Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika. Memorial contributions may be made to ALS Research at the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 3300 E.
