Bertie Maurice Hargis Dawkins, ninety-four, of Odessa, Texas, passed from this life Wednesday, August 8, 2007, in Ft Worth, Texas. She was born May 9, 1913, in Ryan, Oklahoma, to Lee and Ethyl Hargis of the Irving, Oklahoma community. She married Franklin Maurice Dawkins December 23, 1934, in Waurika, Oklahoma. She was a long-time resident of Odessa, Texas. She was a Baptist and a beloved wife, mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband - in 1984.

Survivors include: one son - Enoch Dawkins and his wife Frances, of New Orleans, LA; two daughters - Luethyl and her husband Levi Price of Waco, TX, and Frances and her husband John Ed Wilson of Ft Worth, TX; one sister - Miss Frances Babe Hargis of Waurika, OK; six grandchildren - Roni Carter of Kansas City, KS, Jennifer Dixon of New Orleans, LA, Todd Wilson of Dayton, OH, Tim Price of Austin, TX, Sara Welshimer of Houston, TX, and Tyson Wilson of Portland, OR; and eighteen great-grandchildren.

Graveside services for Mrs. Dawkins will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 11, 2007, the Ryan Cemetery in Ryan, Oklahoma with Dr. Levi Price officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home in Ryan, Oklahoma.
