Benny Neal Collier


Benny Neal Collier was born in Wichita Falls, Texas, August 14, 1951, to Neal and Emma Lee Collier. His life came to a tragic end in a vehicle accident near Apache, Oklahoma, May 31, 2007. Benny graduated from Rider High School in Wichita Falls, and attended Tarleton State University. He was in the cattle business in the Wichita Falls area and partner with his dad, Neal Collier, in the Wichita Livestock Auction. He later moved to Lubbock where he was a truck driver for Hurley Packaging. He had recently moved to Apache, Oklahoma.

Benny was an avid Nascar fan, always supporting Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Jr. He enjoyed camping, spending time with his girls, and being outdoors. In November, 2006, Benny rededicated his life to the Lord. He found forgiveness and hope in the grace of his Heavenly Father.

Benny's eldest daughter, Michelle, enjoys many wonderful memories of her Dad at Nascar races, camping, and working on projects together. He was always entertaining his only granddaughter, Hadley, riding bikes with her and doing all the things little girls love to do.

Benny was preceded in death by his father Neal Collier.

Survivors include: his mother, Emma Lee Gilmore of Wichita Falls,TX; two daughters - Michelle and her husband Rob Eeds of Wichita Falls, TX, and Casey Collier of Denton, TX; granddaughter Hadley of Wichita Falls, TX; three brothers, Stuart and Troy Collier and wife Kathy of Wichita Falls, TX; and brother Travis Collier and wife Beth of Montana.

Funeral services for Mr. Collier were at 11:00 AM, Monday, June 4, 2007, at the Lunn's Funeral Home Chapel in Wichita Falls, Texas, with Chaplain Dan Norwood officiating. Burial was in the Crestview Cemetery in Wichita Falls, under the personal care and direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika, Oklahoma. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army ARC, 4215 South Congress, Austin, TX 78745.
