Barbara Richardson
Barbara Richardson , seventy-five, of Waurika, died on the 21st of November, 2010 in Valley View Hospital, Ada, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at 10:30 at the First Baptist Church in Waurika with Rev. Jeff McLemore officiating. Burial will follow at Waurika Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home in Waurika. Barbara was born December 15, 1934 in Nocona, Texas to William Henry and Lorena Reynolds. She graduated with honors from Waurika High School in 1953. She married Willis Worley, Jr. in Waurika on August 28, 1953, and the couple moved to Okmulgee where she worked as a stenographer in the law offices of K.D. Bailey while her husband attended A&M Tech. The couple returned to Waurika in 1962 where they were employed by Worley Funeral Home. She worked as secretary to the Board of County Commissioners from August 1981- July 1998. She married Fred E. Richardson on the 16th of May, 1992 at Lake Murray Chapel in Ardmore, Oklahoma and the couple made their home in Waurika. Barbara loved to redecorate and make her home a place that everyone could feel at home. She also enjoyed cooking, sewing, crafts and watching birds and the wonders of nature. Barbara's favorite pastime was growing flowers, and she could often be seen "digging in the dirt," oblivious to the world around her. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Waurika. She was also a past president of the BPW (Business Professional Womens) and Chamber of Commerce Secretary.
She is survived by her children - Carmen Perkins and her husband Brad of Thomas, Oklahoma, Chris Worley of Plano, Texas, Heather Harris and husband Gary of Ada, Oklahoma, one sister - Betty Jean Reeder of Bella Vista, Arkansas, two granddaughters, two great grandchildren, step children - Stan Richardson, Becky Gerken and husband Gary, Ann Hodges and husband Everett, and Sandra Watkins and husband Donnie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers - Bill Reynolds and Sammy Reynolds, sisters - Patty Brann and Felice Dillard, Sharon Richardson, wife of Stan Richardson and husband Fred Richardson in August of this year.
Visitation will be Monday from 10AM-8PM. Memorials may be made to Operation Smile, Smile Train, Breast Cancer Awareness and the National Veteran's Services Operation.
