Barbara Ruth "Shirley" Joplin
Barbara Ruth "Shirley" Joplin, passed from this life July 25, 2015, at her home in Ryan, Oklahoma. She was born April 15, 1942, in Woodward, Oklahoma, to Elden Duane and Ilene June "Thorp" Shirley.
Barbara and Clinton Joplin were married February 23, 1957, in Gainesville, Texas. They lived in Haslet, Texas for many years, then in Glen Rose, Texas and finally in Ryan, Oklahoma. She was a homemaker and worked for a time at the Koffee Kup Cafe. She was a member of the Glen Rose Church of Christ for thirty-eight years. She was a wonderful and faithful wife and mother for fifty-eight years.
She was preceded in death by her parents Elden and Ilene Shirley, and two brothers Leroy and Floyd Shirley.
Survivors include: her husband Clinton, of the home in Ryan, OK; son Clinton L. Joplin Jr. and his wife Carol of Ryan, OK; daughters Peggy and her husband Ronald Hice of Ryan, OK, Patty and her husband Mark White of Glen Rose, TX, and Kimmie and her husband Donald Kipp of Alma, OK; grandchildren - Ronald Hice, Jr. and his wife Jessica, Jennifer Lawson, Darrin Parish and his wife Katie, Jeremy Parish and his wife Benita, Justin Joplin, Amber Joplin, Brandon Kipp, Julie and her husband Matthew Taylor, Victoria and her husband DeShawn Crawford, Allen Perrin, Kaitlyn Perrin, and Caleb Perrin; great-grandchildren - Madalynn Sue Hice, Miranda Ellen Hice, Cody Lawson, Colton Lawson, Dakota Lawson, Taylor Parish, Ashlyn Parish, Holden Parish, Lydia Parish, Ruthie Taylor, Levi Taylor, Aiden Taylor, Freddie Crawford, DeShawn Crawford, Mya Crawford, and Alena Perrin; brothers Larry Shirley of Ft Worth, TX and Elden Shirley, Jr. of Ft Worth, TX; and sisters Muriel Ann Elwood of Gueda Springs, KS, Cindy Cassidy of Justin, TX, and Brenda McCarty of Ft Worth, TX.
Graveside services for Mrs. Joplin will be at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, July 28, 2015, at the Ryan Cemetery with David Bradley officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 7:00 PM Monday at the Dudley Funeral Home Chapel in Ryan. Pallbearers will be Ron Hice, Jr., Darrin Parish, Jeremy Parish, Brandon Kipp, Justin Joplin, Caleb Perrin, Matthew Taylor, and DeShawn Crawford.
