David Arville Roebuck was born October 23, 1916, in Alberdeen, Mississippi, to W.T. and Amy Wheeler Roebuck. Arville passed from this life Sunday, December 24, 2006, at his home in Waurika, Oklahoma at the age of ninety. When he was six months old, the family moved to Jefferson County, Oklahoma, living at Fleetwood and later east of Waurika. His schooling was at Fleetwood and Linwood, east of Waurika. The family also lived at Addington and Comanche, moving to Augusta, Kansas in 1943. On December 20, 1946, he married Viola Morgan and they continued to live in Kansas until 1950 when they moved back to Oklahoma. They lived nearly thirty years four miles south of Waurika Cemetery until moving into Waurika in 1981 to their present home. They had celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary December 20. Arville was a faithful member of the Waurika church of Christ.
Survivors include: his wife, Viola, of the home in Waurika, OK; two daughters - Janice and her husband Melvin Jones of Duncan, OK, and Barbara Dennard of Waurika, OK; one son - Don Roebuck and his wife Lisa of Duncan, OK; one sister - Thelma Rogers of Emporia, KS; four grandchildren - Lisa Scifres of Duncan, OK, Tim and Kristi Dennard of Waurika, OK, and Logan Roebuck of Duncan, OK; and four great-grandchildren - Daimen and Tiffany Scifres of Duncan, OK, and Kelsi and Austin Dennard of Waurika, OK.
Funeral services for Mr. Roebuck were at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, December 27, 2006, at the Waurika Church of Christ with Noel Curington officiating. Burial was in the Waurika Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika. Memorial contributions may be made to the Waurika Church of Christ.
