Anna Virginia Barnett was born April 25, 1923, in Whitt, Texas, to Walter Key and Artie Conna Foreman Throckmorton. She passed from this life Thursday, June 19, 2008, in Neosho, Missouri, at the age of eighty-five. She and Alvin Lee Barnett were married March 23, 1940, in Waurika, Oklahoma. She grew up in Bowie, Texas, and later moved to Kermit, Texas, where Alvin worked for El Paso Natural Gas until his retirement. She moved back to Byers, Texas, until Alvin passed away in 1988. Anna was a homemaker and loved to cook, garden, and do crafts. Her hearing disability prevented her from socializing and doing the things she really wanted to do. She loved to travel and visit with her family and friends.

Survivors include: one son, Eddie Barnett and his wife Linda of Byers, TX; two daughters - Delores A. and her husband Danny M. Paschall Sr. of Neosho, MO, Phillis Jean and her husband Michael G. Dannels of Anderson, MO; eight grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.

Graveside services for Mrs. Barnett will be at 10:00 AM, Monday, June 23, 2008, at the Byers Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home in Waurika, Oklahoma, with Jon Curry officiating.
