Altena Mae (Davis) Conard Cook
Altena Mae (Davis) Conard Cook , 94, passed from this life October 26, 2020, in Weatherford, Texas. She was born May 11, 1926, in Addington, Oklahoma, to Irving and Bessie (McDaniel) Davis. She was the sixth of ten children. She graduated from Addington High School.
She married Forest Conard in 1945, and they had four children. The lived and raised their family in Waurika, Oklahoma. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. She worked at Jefferson County Hospital for many years as an operating room nurse and later as a lab technician. She retired from there in 1989.
Later in life she married Jack Cook.
Altena was preceded in death by both parents, husbands Forest and Jack, all her siblings and her son James Conard. She is survived by her son Bill Conard and his wife Judy, daughter Debbie McFarlin, and son John Conard, three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 31, 2020, at the Waurika Cemetery with Bruce Humphries officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 2:00 to 6:00 PM. Services are under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home.
