Alphaeus L. Whitfield passed from this life Sunday, March, 17, 2002, in Westbrook Nursing Home in Waurika, Oklahoma at the age of 101. He was born July 3, 1900, to Jasper and Eliza Whitfield in Lone Grove, Oklahoma. Mr. Whitfield worked as a machinist for Bethelem Pipe and Steel until his retirement. In 1964, he and Allie were married in Hugo, Oklahoma.

Survivors include: one daughter - Gwen Leahy of Sacramento,CA; three sons - Marion Whitfield of Comanche, OK, Jack Whitfield of Loco, OK, and Billy Whitfield of Comanche, OK; eighteen grandchildren; thirty-eight great-grandchildren; thirty-four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Whitfield were at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, March 20, 2002, at the Praise Assembly of God in Comanche, with W.W. Harkins officiating. Burial was in Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Comanche.
